My name is Kristy Padilla and I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC). I provide counseling in Oak Brook, IL. Therapy is offered for pre-adolescents (11-12), adolescents (13-18), and adults (18+) suffering from high stress, anxiety/panic, depression, and women’s issues related but not limited to infertility and pregnancy/infant loss. If any of the questions below resonate with you, it is likely a sign that counseling could be greatly beneficial to you.
Have you been feeling overwhelmed trying to balance the many stressors that exist in your life? You feel like you are just treading water and can barely stay afloat. You try to push through on your own as best as you know how but you can’t seem to rise above to avoid feeling like you are drowning in your stress.
Perhaps you suffer from anxiety. Do you feel as if your brain has turned into a hamster wheel of worries where your thoughts just go round and round? Attempts to just “stop thinking and worrying about things” do not work? Next thing you know, you are caught in a web of worries as one just seems to lead to another.
In some more extreme cases, intense anxiety and worry can lead to physical reactions like panic attacks. Maybe you’ve had episodes where you have difficulty breathing, accelerated and pounding heart beat, sweating, hot/cold flashes, feeling faint, or nausea? These are just some of the signs of a panic attack.
Maybe you experience intense bouts of sadness and depression. You don’t feel like yourself. You have had a loss of interest in things, people, places, and activities you used to enjoy. Never mind having much motivation to do the simplest tasks in a day. Did you know depression can also look different in children and adolescents? Depression can often appear as anger and irritability. This irritable appearance can often cause conflict between the parent and child which can disrupt the entire household.
When there is emotional suffering, one may wonder if they could ever feel at peace again. The truth is, it’s possible but it will take work. With my guidance and support, we can make that happen.
